Yep, The Weekend

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Simple. Tonight, Buffalo Homecoming Happy to be here Hour. Towne Ballroom. 6 p.m. I do believe Party Squad is playing.
Once again, Bowling Shirts Optional.

Tomorrow at the Central Terminal is the wildly popular Hallwall’s event, Artists and Models. I have to call my Brother in law this morning to see if he got the tickets yet. If not, I will be this afternoon.

By the Way, My beloved and I went to the Empire Grill for a bite on Wednesday for our Anniversary. A truly enjoyable experience.
Our Server was great (Thanks Kat!) The Onion Ring Appetizer was excellent, as were the Tomato Basil Fresh Mozzarella Paninni and the California Turkey Wrap. Add a sunny afternoon, and it was a very good time.

Scheduling Conflict

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Let me see:
Thursday in the Square starts this week.
Friday is the big Happy to be Here Hour at the Towne Ballroom.
Saturday is the big Hallwall’s Artists & Models at the Terminal.
The conflict? Nothing is going on Wednesday, which is my 31st wedding anniversary.
So we will celebrate the way we always do.
I will bring her coffee. When she sits up I will say “Happy Anniversary”. I am an incurable romantic as you can see.

Official Start of Buffalo Summer

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Yep, it’s here. This weekend starts the party in Western New York. The 2 or 3 outdoor concerts a week, some local festival every weekend, beer drinking, charring dead animal flesh of some sort on the grill season.
The only Drive In left in town is already open. All the stores have outdoor stuff on sale. It’s here kids.
Mine will start in the usual manner:
Yardwork tomorrow
Official Memorial day Party at my sister in law and brother in law’s Sunday.
Giant Flea Market in Wilson on Monday.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Any other big plans for the weekend out there?

No News Today

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

At least not worth commenting on. I’m still getting over the blues that Dr. Williams is staying.
The hyperbole about Women will be set back 5,000 years if Hillary doesn’t get the nod is setting back Women at least a few.

But back here at the Rancho el Dub, another meeting tonight for Buffalo Homecoming, and sore shoulders from ripping up pavement at the Central Terminal on Saturday.
Now I have to get some coffee. It’s 5:45 a.m. and 3 hours sleep does not make me a fun person to be with.

Big Saturday!

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Grand opening going on at the home of BUFFALO ReUSE . And if that isn’t enough, Saturday morning is the annual spring cleanup at the Terminal, from 9 until 1.
I am there, you should be too.

Stuck on the 190 with Idiots

Monday, May 12th, 2008

So here I am, trying to make the Homecoming meeting at 6:30. Traffic is slowing down, figure I might be a little late. I’m right by the Ontario St. exit, so I figure I’ll jump off there. You know the rest of the story. Armed man, obviously unstable.

Here I am, 15 car lengths away from a pretty serious situation, and pretty much everyone around me knew what was up. What do they do?
Get out of their cars to get a closer look.
One young woman was complaining about their destination. “Cozumel? That’s stupid. That’s not a Monday thing”
There were people on Niagara rushing up to get a closer look. Obviously they had never seen someone shot before and wanted to increase their chances of seeing it happen, or become a victim themselves. They were bringing their children for God’s sake.
I also found the comments about shooting the man because people were running late particularly irritating as well.
Hopefully there were no spectators disappointed that the incident came to a safe conclusion.

The Weekend

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Not much of a clue….
The usual chicken dinner/basket raffle for a a good cause, a guy coming over to give us a quote on gutters. I have to fix the fence. That’s it.
Bet you’re all envious.
Is there anything worth doing out there this weekend? Any events?

Saturday News.

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

Never you mind about the Plaza at the end, where it will be, how many houses will be lost, the pollution, etc. Our elected officials are making sure that our new bridge will be pretty.

Mayor wants to hire his own watchdog at 80k. Maybe a relative needs a job. who knows.

On a sadder note, Michelle has decided to pull the plug on her blog “News from a Broad”. She will be sorely missed, and I am sure we all wish her the best in her life.
And speaking of blogs, one of the reasons I go by “Pauldub” is due to the difficulty in typing my last name.
The Mothership (By the way, I see the office is for rent, did you guys move to Charlotte?) proved my point when they switched their sidebar from Blogs to Contributors. It’s “CZ” not “SZ”.
Geez, obviously not a Pollock in the bunch.

The Weekend

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

I know, who cares? Friday, two days off, you don’t care what I do as long as I don’t show up at your door with sales or promotional literature of some type early in the morning.
This afternoon I’ll be wandering around the city putting out Homecoming postcards. I hope to sit down sometime this weekend and learn how to use the new camera so I can jazz up my posts with exciting pictures of well, whatever.
I noticed that the huge Trinity sale banner is up. Is that this weekend?
Anyone got excitement galore going on?
